Grant path updates
Short notes as the RMTI path takes shape. The slide would be free to ride. Capital would come through Empire State Development, not a City grant. No CFA until site control and an eligible applicant are real.
Where this stands
As of September 1, 2026 the project is in pre-feasibility. ESD Finger Lakes opened a pre-application conversation in August, asked about City partnership and High Falls State Park fit, then introduced the concept to City DES. That intro is a process door, not sponsorship and not an award.
- City owns Pont de Rennes; written consent does not exist yet
- Eligible applicant is still unresolved
- Park coordination waits on City sequencing
- August 31, 2026 ESD introduces the concept to City DES Finger Lakes staff introduced the project to David Riley, Principal Transportation Specialist at City DES. Orientation, not endorsement.
- August 12, 2026 ESD Finger Lakes replies: first real staff feedback Spam recovery via phone, then a staff reply asking about City partnership and High Falls State Park design fit.
- August 10, 2026 RMTI pre-application opened with ESD Finger Lakes Emailed Empire State Development, locked program rules into the repo, and prepared a concept brief.
